Obituary

Richard 'Rick' Allen Rugg, Sr., 69, of Superior, WI, passed away on March 6, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospice in Duluth, MN.

He was born in Kenosha, WI, on February 13, 1951, to Walter and Elaine (Pinsoneault) Rugg.

Richard and Cynthia Burm were united in marriage on June 25, 1977 and spent 42 years together.

He served in the United State Army 3 rd Division Battalion 6 th Infantry during the Berlin Crisis.

Rick worked for the Superior Fire Department for 32 years and retired as a battalion chief on December 29, 2009.  He truly loved his job and his second family while there.

He enjoyed fishing, watching the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers, and loved making his homemade chili.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Milton Burm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cyndie; sons, Richard A. (Melissa) Rugg Jr. and Bradley (Andrea) Rugg; grandchildren, Matthew, Alexis, Trevor, and J.J.; mother-in-law, Marilyn Burm of Superior; brothers-in-law, James (Sandy) Burm of Marion, IA, Tom Burm of Superior, and Dick (Rita) Burm of Dent, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. celebration of life at Hope Community Church, Superior. Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
