Obituary

Richard A. Adolphson, 65, of Lake Nebagamon, Wis., passed into eternal life on Wed., June 17, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth, Minn. At his bedside was his "Special Angel", Stella, his wife of forty-four years.

He was born Sept. 13, 1949 in Superior to Ivaloe and Herbert Adolphson. He had been employed by Range Building Supply and Midland Co-op, and Co-op Services.

Richard had been a hunter safety instructor for twenty years and he immensely enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapshooting. He also was a black powder enthusiast. He loved to garden and bowl.
He is survived by his wife, the former Stella Hoyt; two sons, Lance (Tabitha) Adolphson of Barnes, Wis. and Larry Adolphson of Oshkosh, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Thomas, Autumn, Shad, Elijah, Amethyst, and Shelby; brothers, Paul (Patty) Adolphson and John (Chris) Adolphson all of Superior; sisters, Nancy Adolphson of South Range, Wis., Karen (Garry) Berggren of Superior, Linda Adolphson of Superior, Mary (Ron) Terry of Gordon, Wis., and Sue (Dan) Hoeffling of Killen, Tex.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edith and Elmer Hoyt; a brother, Dave; and a little sister, Kristen.

Visitation will be in Darrow Road Wesleyan Church on Mon., June 22nd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with his funeral service following Tues., June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark A. Holmes officiating.

Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
