Richard "Rick" David Braun, 66, of Superior, died at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth, with his loving wife by his side. The world lost a very kind and wonderful man on March 31, 2020 to lung cancer.

If you knew Rick, every day was "Marvelous. Simply."  He loved life, but above all else loved his family. A generous and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son-in-law, Rick enjoyed taking care of others.  In recent years, he visited his mother-in-law daily, drove his granddaughter to school, and cared for his newest grandbaby during the week, not because he had to but because he sincerely wanted to.  The list could go on and on because his love for his family knew no limits. Rick greeted each day with excitement and enthusiasm, and when he wasn't working at Poplar Golf Course in the summer or taking care of his family, he was usually taking a long walk with Nancy, golfing, going to the casino, or planning his next trip to Vegas.  His positive and generous spirit will be missed but not forgotten. We will never forget his boyish zest for life, and he will be forever young and playful in our hearts .

On August 2, 1975 in Superior, Nancy Sullivan and Richard Braun were united in marriage.

Prior to his retirement job at the Poplar Golf Course, Rick's work history started at Twin Ports Grocery, then Gateway Foods, and retired from Fleming Foods after 30 years in the wholesale grocery industry.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Dorothy Braun, and his father-in-law, Tom Sullivan.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Nancy; daughters, Carrie (Jamey) Reno, and Kelly (Ryan) Wiisanen; granddaughters, Emily Reno and Margot Wiisanen; mother-in-law, Jan Sullivan; sister, Nancy (Larry) Johnson, St. Croix Beach, MN; brothers, Gary (Colleen) Braun, Prior Lake, MN and Greg (Julie) Braun, North Port, FL; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Rita Sepersky) Sullivan, Green Bay, WI, and John (Pam) Sullivan, LasVegas, NV; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Poplar Golf Course, with Prayers and Memories shared at 2:00 p.m.
