Richard P.
Fisher
August 16, 1950 – May 10, 2025
Richard Paul Fisher, age 74, of Superior, WI, passed away on May 10, 2025. He was born on August 16, 1950, in Superior, Wisconsin, to Charles and Mary Lou (Samuelson) Fisher. Rich was a devoted husband of 52 years to Dalelarae (Dalbec) Fisher and a loving father to Richard R. Fisher, Kacey (Troy) Blatt, and Stephanie (Cory) Johnson.
Rich lost his mother, Mary Lou, before the age of two. At that time, his aunt, Helen Klobucher lovingly stepped in to care for him. He spent his early childhood in Ashland, Wisconsin, with Aunt Helen and her family, who became a second family to him. Aunt Helen was like a mother, and his cousins were more like siblings.
Around 1958, Rich returned to Superior to live with his father Charles, stepmother Coletta, and brothers Charles and Thomas.
At just 17 years old, Rich enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1968 and served honorably until 1971 during the Vietnam Conflict. His service took him to Germany, Panama, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He earned commendations in marksmanship and transportation. After his discharge, he returned home to Superior to begin the next chapter of his life.
It was then that he met the love of his life, Dalelarae. The two proud North Enders married on September 9, 1972, and together built a beautiful life, raising three children in Superior. Rich was a devoted family man—hardworking, honest, generous, and endlessly patient. He was the kind of husband and father who always put his family first.
Rich worked for many years as a Longshoreman and also spent time at Fleming Foods. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 346 and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help anyone in need. If you knew Rich, you knew he was one of the good ones—selfless, kind, and genuine.
In retirement, Rich found joy in caring for his grandchildren. Whether it was walks to the park, lunch at A&W, or singing silly songs, every moment with "Papa" was filled with love and laughter. He was immensely proud of his grandchildren and loved cheering them on at their sporting events. He truly was the best Papa in the world.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved Aunt Helen, his brother, Charles M. Fisher and sister-in-law, Yvonne Dalbec.
He is survived by his wife, Dalelarae; children, Richard, Kacey (Troy), and Stephanie (Cory); cherished grandchildren, Ava, Tate, and Lennon Fisher, Colton and Ella Blatt, and Paige and Carter Johnson; brother, Thomas E. Fisher; mother-in-law, Esther Dalbec; sisters-in-law, Bobo (Clipper) Beckwell, Yvette Robertson, Rachelle (Todd) Ayers, Babbette (Rick) Dalbec, Donna Fisher and Pam Fisher; special niece, Melanie (Brandy) Steberg; and many extended family members and friends from the North End who will miss him dearly.
We will carry on your legacy, Papa Rich. You will never be forgotten.
The family would like to thank Essentia Hospice for their compassion, kindness and care.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, May 16, 2025, at Calvary Cemetery, with Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating. Pallbearers are Richard R. Fisher, Troy Blatt, Cory Johnson, Brandy Steberg, Jim Lancour, John Lancour, Jr., and Clipper Beckwell. Military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Honor Guard.
