Richard M. “Dick” Caffrey, age 83, of South Range, passed away on Friday May 29, 2026, in Aspirus St. Lukes Hospital, Duluth.

Dick was born November 30, 1942, in Superior to Dorothy (Sorensen) and William T. Caffrey.

He was a jet engine mechanic in the United States Air Force. Dick was very involved with various veterans’ groups.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son Rich and his brothers Tom and Michael.

Dick is lovingly survived by his wife, Dianne; his daughter Lynnette (John Erickson) Markkula; Granddaughter Tribecca (Jason Smith) Markkula; Great grandchildren Ellie and Keith Smith; his siblings Barb (Mike) Fisher and R. Patrick (Peg Zappon) Caffrey. Also, by his sister-in-law Joanne Caffrey and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Celebration of Dick’s Life will be Thursday June 25, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a prayer service at 2:00 pm in the Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th Street, Superior.
