Robert "Bob" E. Buerger, 66, of Superior, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.
He was born August 19, 1945 in Superior, son of Eric and Marion (Bergren) Buerger.
Robert served his country with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam.
He retired in 2007 from St. Luke's Hospital, where he worked many years as a security officer.
Bob enjoyed various sports activities and dog training. He raised, trained and showed Doberman Pinscher dogs.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and wife, Mavis (Hanson) Buerger.
Survivors include his brother, Mike Buerger, New Brighton, MN; special friends, Mac Fenner, Duluth, and Colleen Ennis, Superior; and his canine buddy, "Curly".
Visitation will be from 1 until the 2 p.m. service, Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Pastor Jason Rhoads officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, with military rites accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post # 435.
Pallbearers will be Mac Fenner, Jesse Johansen, David Salinas, John Wicklein, Patrick Hemmingsen, and Korri Ksicinski.
