Robert J. 'Robbie' Christman Jr., 27, died Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

He was born in Superior on October 14, 1989, the son of Robert and Maria (Pearson) Christman.

For 24 years, Robbie survived 5 cancers, a liver transplant, a bone marrow transplant, and a kidney transplant.  Robbie's brother, Steven, donated his kidney and bone marrow. Robbie fought for life. He never quit or gave up. Yes, he was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Robbie enjoyed reading and watching the Minnesota Vikings.  He was a member of the N.R.A. and was an avid collector of guns and shoes.  He was well known for his velveteen rabbit and contagious smile.  Most of all, he loved his family, especially his daughter, Sophia.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Pearson; and paternal grandfather, Joseph Christman.

Robbie is survived by his daughter, Sophia St. Marie, Duluth; parents, Robert and Maria Christman, Superior; brother, Steven Christman, Superior; sister, Morgan Pearson, Superior; maternal grandmother, Rose Pearson; paternal grandmother, Joanne (Marv) Carlson, Duluth; paternal step-grandmother, Diana Christman, Superior; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His visitation will be on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.  The visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, February 11 ^th , at 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service.  Rev. Mark Holmes, pastor of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church will officiate.
