Robert Charles Dow, 67, of Superior, Wis. died Thurs., Oct. 6, 2011 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Robert was born in Superior on June 28, 1944, the son of Robert J. and Avis Dow.
He graduated from Central High School in Superior and lived in Superior all is life.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union and worked many years as a laborer and then at ADM Grain Elevators.
Robert enjoyed being out in nature, especially hunting, fishing and trapping. He also enjoyed gardening, going snowmobiling and watching the Packers play. He loved being alone, but always said nobody comes around. He had a different sense of humor, but family and friends understood him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Kim Lee Dow.
Robert is survived by Marcia, the mother of his children, of Superior; children, Deborah Dow, Troy (Carol Jones) Dow of Duluth, Minn., and Scott (Shauntae) Dow of Poplar, Wis.; grandchildren, Kyle and Lyle Lindquist, Candice (Josh) Strom, Scott Dow, Jordan Bixler, Nathan, Kevin and Kathryn Derick, Lilly Mae Handberg, Nick Dow, Cassidy Bruner, and Brendan and Cole Little; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jayla, and Jaymeson; sisters, Darlene Johnson and Gayle (Jim) Martin; and a niece and nephew.
Visitation will be on Fri. Oct. 14, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Carl Perrin will officiate.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Middle River Health Center's staff for the excellent care provided to him and also for the kindness shown to Robert and his family.
