Obituary

Robert "Bob" Rolandson, 79, a longtime Superior, Wis. resident, died Sat., June 4, 2011 at the Villa-Marina Health & Rehabilitation Center, Superior.

He was born Mar. 9, 1932 in Cotton, Minn. to Hannah and Peter Rolandson.

From 1952-1954 during the Korean War he served his country in the U.S. Army.

In September of 1958 in Superior he was united in marriage to Betty Gotelaere.

As a young man he was a stock car racer and he also enjoyed hunting.

Bob owned and operated Bob's Auto Repair in Allouez for thirty years. He was an excellent mechanic and was a handyman that had a talent in repairing most anything.

For seventeen years he and his wife, Betty were also contract carriers for the Evening Telegram.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, Marvin, Martin and Roy.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; six children, Jeff (Sandy) Rolandson of South Range, Wis., Julie (John) Albright of South Range, James Rolandson of Portland, Ore., Janet (Mike) Fellbaum of Superior, Joanne (Dean) Salo of South Range, and Jill Rolandson of St. Francis, Minn.; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Bob's memorial service will be held in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., on Thurs., June 9th at noon with Rev. Fr. Don Kania of St. Anthony's Church officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
