Roberta "Bobbie" Jean Parenteau, 94, of Superior, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
She was born March 30, 1918 in Superior, daughter of Harrison and Mary (Rieckhoff) Wells.
Her work history included Woolworths, Roth Brothers and for many years a homemaker.
Bobbie was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King at its Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court # 1190, the former Superior Memorial Hospital volunteers, Chicago Northwestern Club, AARP and Ladies Skating Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Arthur L. Parenteau in 1980;son, David; grandchildren, Jeremy and Elizabeth; brother, Harrison Wells; and sister, Dorothy Worm.
Survivors include her sons, Robert "Mickey" (Kay) Parenteau, Robbinsdale, MN, and Mark (Terri) Parenteau, Whitewater, WI; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, with a 5:30 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary service, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. The visitation will resume at 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior. Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
Following the committal service, everyone is invited back to the church for a luncheon.
Pallbearers will be Roberta's grandchildren, Steve, John, Jenny, Julie, Andrew and Deonne.
