Roger E. Shykes, 64, of Superior, died Saturday, April 29, 2017, at his residence.

He was born February 26, 1953, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, son of Lois (Nelson) and Donald Shykes.

Roger proudly served his country for over 20 years with the U.S. Navy.

Some of his interests included playing guitar, singing, cooking and enjoying Beatles music.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepson, Scott.

Survivors include his daughter, Megan Shykes; son, Christopher Shykes; grandchildren, Lilliana and Owen; brothers, Donald, David, Terry, Richard and Dennis; sisters, Darlene and Denise; former spouse and friend, Diane; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Lincoln Park pavilion, Duluth.
