Ronald F. Anderson, 70, of Superior, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, surrounded by his family.
He was born September 30, 1942 in Superior, son of Orval and Betty (Johnson) Anderson.
On November 30, 1963, in Superior, Wisconsin, Ronald F. Anderson and Marlene G. Peltzer were united in marriage.
Ron was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Teamsters Union.
Some of his interests were hunting, fishing, scouting (he was a proud Eagle Scout), aviation and reading.
Ron was a multi-talented college graduate, and his work history included truck driving over one million miles and retiring as an accountant with the former Eggebrecht Chevrolet.
Preceding him in death were his parents; mother-in-law, Gem Peltzer; father-in-law, Al Peltzer; brother, Orval Anderson, Jr.; and nephew, Steven Pettit.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Marlene; daughters, Carolyn (Mickey) Brand, Superior, and Nancy Anderson, Buffalo, MN; son, Tom (Beth) Anderson, Superior; grandchildren, David, Joshua and Desirae Brand; sister, Judy Remington, Superior; brother, Rod (Cynde) Anderson, Superior; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Peltzer and Bob Mosca, both of Conifer, Colorado; aunt, Marina Southwick, Superior; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, and will resume at 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Wednesday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5821 John Avenue, Superior. Reverend Gary Garnatz will officiate. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the service.
Inurnment will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hawthorne, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church-Music Department, Solvay Hospice House or the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on 6E and the hospice unit at Essentia Health and they extend a special thank you to the staff of Solvay Hospice House for their wonderful care, love and concern.
