Ronald I. Johnson, 83, of Superior, died Saturday July 25, 2026, at his residence.

Ron was born in Superior on November 21, 1942, the son of Ivan and Helen (Clark) Johnson. He graduated from Northwestern High School.

Ron had worked as a pulper and then started his own business, Ron Johnson Construction. He was a very hard worker and was very proud of the many homes and garages he built throughout Superior and Duluth.

Ron married Barbara on May 28, 1992, and they recently celebrated 34 years of marriage.

He enjoyed fishing, camping with friends, trips to the casino, and spending time with friends and family. Ron was a very kind and gentle man, a very loving husband and partner, and he loved to laugh and joke around.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Mark (Patti) Johnson and Jim (Margie) Johnson; daughter, Rebecca (Lenny Carter) Sutherland; stepsons, Barry (Andrea) Scruggs and Rory Scruggs; sister, Katherine “Kay” Erickson; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 1st from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4020 S Darrow Rd, Superior, WI, with Pastor John Fleming as officiant.
