Ronald "Ron" L. Johnson, Superior, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Villa Marina Health and Rehab.

Ron was born on March 9, 1937, to Russell and Ann (Stuart) Johnson.

Ron married Pat McGettigan, and they just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

He served two years in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Meredith. In more recent years, he would attend yearly U.S.S. Meredith Navy reunions, meeting up with old friends and making new ones.

Ron was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed time hunting, fishing, camping, and tending to his big vegetable gardens. He also loved football and watching the Green Bay Packers. It was rare for him to miss a game.

After retiring in 1999, Ron traveled with Pat and Friends, they went on memorable trips to Alaska, Russia, and Hawaii to enjoy all the wonderful sights.

Ron spent his winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he made many new friends and enjoyed the mild winters.

Summers were spent at his home in Williams MN, on Sandy Shores (Lake of the Woods). Ron made many friends there that he enjoyed spending time with, and all that the big lake had to offer with magnificent views and stunning sunsets.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Lori Ann (Johnson) Gouse.

Ron is survived by his wife, Patricia (McGettigan) Johnson; son, Scott Johnson; daughter LeeAnn (Johnson) Krogerson; grandsons, Kyle, Jason, and Marvin Krogerson, along with many cousins and dear friends.
