Obituary

Ronald Jerome "Ron" Moen, Sr. of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away at home on April 18th, 2023.

Ron was born on February 5th, 1948, in Superior, Wisconsin to Leonard & Agnes (Wojciechowski).  He was a self-taught mechanic known for his mechanical expertise and worked his whole life in the field. Ron was also a member of the Wisconsin International Operating Engineers Local 139, where his knowledge and skills were highly valued.

He was known for being mischievous, putting smiles on people's faces, and helping anyone in need. He could fix anything or make anything work. Ron was also very fond of spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed camping in his bus. People looked forward to his homemade french fries, and he also took great pride in his garden (as anyone who drove by his house could attest to). He found creative ways to have fun, such as designing and building a fantastic sledding hill. Ron was a lifelong Packers fan and more recently, became a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers. Over the past few years he enjoyed restoring his 1964 Cadillac.

Ron is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Linda (Lisdahl); children, Ronald (Nan) Moen, Jr., Hermantown, MN, Holly (Bernie) Conklin, Foxboro, WI, Angie (Joe) Kienzle, South Range, WI, and Crystal Moen, Superior, WI; grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Katie, Brandon, Baylor, Brekkon, and the apple of his eye, great-granddaughter Arcadia with another great-granddaughter on the way; siblings, Luella Day, Patzau, WI, Carol (Ed) Hudacek, Superior, WI, Robert Moen, Poplar, WI, and Dennis (Shelly) Moen, Spring Lake Park, MN; sister-in-law, Rosie Moen, Patzau, WI, and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Agnes; his brother, Leonard (Lenny) Moen; his brother-in-law, Herbert Day; and his sister-in-law, Joanne Moen.

Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life for Ron at the Elks Lodge (1503 Belknap St, Superior, WI 54880) on April 29th, 2023, from 3 PM to 8 PM. Guests are encouraged to share stories, photos, and fond memories of Ron.
