Obituary

Ronald J. Moyer, 88 of Trego, WI, died Monday March 11, 2024, in his home with family by his side.

Ron was born November 7, 1935, to Viola (Bing) and Clarence Moyer in Bass Lake, WI.

He was a US Navy veteran working as a turbine and engine operator. Following his service, he was employed as a professional painter primarily working on new construction.

Ron was an outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his family and friends.  He was always up for a road trip or traveling to a new destination.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his sons, Darren Moyer, Matt Moyer, and Robert Exendine; his grandchildren, Micah O'Neill and Charlie Robinson; his sisters, Judy Moyer and Georgie Moyer; and his brother, Gaylen Moyer.

Survivors include his children, Clint (Terri) Moyer, Shaun Higgins, Michelle Higgins, Debbie Soar, Camela Lawerence, and Kari Rose; his grandchildren, Brier (Jackie) Northup, Justin (Becky) Northup, Wesley (Jessica) Soar, Melissa Carden, Skyler Exendine, Lexis Exendine & many more; great granddaughter, Olive Northup; his siblings, Jack (Doreen) Moyer, Roger (Kathy) Moyer and Barb Moyer.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19th St., with Gary Banker as celebrant.

Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the Richard I. Bong American Post #435 and the Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Team.
