Rose M. Gilbertson, 71, of Superior, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born in Madison, WI, on December 28, 1947, the daughter of Francis and Helen Lawinger.

Rose was a waitress at the Anchor Bar for 17 years. She had previously worked at the Bluebird Café and Sundown Café.

She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, trips to the casino, and listening to old country music. Rose made delicious homemade pizza and was a great conversationalist. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mark; special friend, Jerry Krogerson; and granddaughter, Amber.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Mary (Tom) Casper of Superior; Amy Koivisto of Barnum; Kim (Bill) Gilbertson of Superior, Paula (Al) Sherman of Altoona, WI, and Bobbie Jo (Jesse) Long of Superior; sons, Todd Gilbertson of Lake Nebagamon and James Long of Superior; step-son, Rusty Krogerson; 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, at the Anchor Bar, 413 Tower Avenue, Superior.
