Roy A. "Torino" Madsen, 74, of Superior, died Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.
He was born May 25, 1950, in Superior, son of Raymond and Gale (Pierson) Madsen.
Roy worked as a shipping clerk for Moline and was a long-time boilermaker retiring out of Local Union #107.
Torino was known as the Patzau weatherman texting his family and friends. He also enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, stock car races, hunting, informing his family the number of deer in the local fields, and his greatest love was spending time with his family.
Preceding him death were his parents; and sister, Jeanne Rae.
Survivors include his sons, Ryan (Jenna) Madsen, Foxboro, Justin (Amber) Madsen, Minto, ND, and Matthew (Maria) Madsen, Minong; grandchildren, Justin Jr., Maykala, Rylee, Logan, Tucker, Nathan, Tanner, Sophia, and Emma; great-granddaughter, Fernanda; siblings, Butch (Kathy) Madsen, Rice Lake, WI, Bonnie (Dick) Nikstad, Foxboro, Norman (Sue) Madsen, Cottage Grove, MN, Kay Peters, Superior, and RaeAnn (Mike) Edwards, Superior; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Friday, September 6, 2024,
at the Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N. 34th Street, Superior. Reverend Mark Holmes will officiate.
The burial will be in Summit Cemetery, Foxboro.
Active pallbearers will be Justin Jr., Rylee, Logan, Tucker, Tanner and Nathan. Honorary pallbearers will be Maykala, Sophia, Emma, and Fernanda.
