Obituary

Roy A. Aspdal, 92, of Gordon, died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Superior Rehab and Nursing Center.

Roy was born on Sept. 3, 1924 the son of Alfred and Esther Aspdal.

He served his country in the Army Airforce during WWII. He was co-owner of Superior Auto Parts and Great Lakes Auto Parts with Andy Anderson.

Roy was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Douglas County Fish and Game League, Brule River Steelhead Assoc., and Ducks Unlimited.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nancy Moore Aspdal; daughter, Margaret A. Krogerson; and an infant sister, Mildred.

Roy is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Richard Aspdal of Washington, Roger Aspdal of Superior and Susan (Silvo) Bachinski-Glavina of Superior; grandchildren, Amy and Jake Bachinski, Debbie and Mike Patnode, and Daniel and Colleen Rosin; great-grandchildren, Ayana, Izaya, Jaylin, Xavier and Natasha; a brother, Rudy Aspdal; Lois' children, Mary J. McFarlane and Abby (Tom) Rosin; and many great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Friday September 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
