Roy J. Erickson, 91, of Superior, died Monday August 26, 2019 at Twin Ports Health and Rehab Center.

Roy was born Aug. 24, 1928 the son of Matt and Freda Erickson.

He had worked for many years on the Railroad with BNSF and as a longshoreman. He was a member of Cathedral Christ the King, the Longshoreman Union, and Carman Union.

Roy loved to work on the railroad and the boats. He was a very hard worker. He really enjoyed when they lived on the farm in Poplar and raised animals.  He also enjoyed being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; sister, Evelyn Gella; and brothers, William Erickson and Matt Erickson.

Roy is survived by wife of 65 years, Eleanor; children, Ann (Gary) Trelstad of Dodge Center, MN; Ellen (David) Balarabe of Laurel, MD; David Erickson of Superior; Steve Erickson of Superior; James (Amy) Erickson of Clayton, WI; and Paula (Stan) Heuer of Esko; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Holm of Portland, OR.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral of Christ the King Church with Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Military Honors will be accorded by Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.

Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery at a later date.
