Rudolph 'Rudy' B. Aspdal, 90, of South Range, died Saturday December 26, 2020 at his residence.

Rudy was born in Superior on Feb. 25, 1930 the son of Alfred and Esther (Hallenquist) Aspdal.

He served his country in the United States Navy. He painted homes before starting his career on the Soo Line Railroad.

Rudy enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and walking trails. He also enjoyed his morning breakfast at the Manitou Inn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Frances in 2019; brother, Roy; and former spouse, Barb Bottem.

Rudy is survived by his daughter, Linda (Nathan) Griffith of Columbus, NE; grandchildren, Lynzi (Simon) Medel and Misty (Eric Peterson) Aspdal; great-grandchildren, Stefan, Erika, Alicia, and Dadrian Medel, Blaine Young, and Jersey and Medrick Odgaard; stepchildren, Martha (Grant) Little and their daughter Sara Cabrera, Henry (Cindy) Cordero, and Trish (Tom) Ludlow.

Following Rudy's wishes, a private graveside will be held in the spring at Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
