Russell E. Erickson, 90, of Superior, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born August 6, 1928, in Superior, son of Hokem and Myrtle (Christianson) Erickson.

Russ proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On July 16, 1955, in Superior, Russell Erickson and Phyllis Yadon were united in marriage.

He worked over 30 years for the city of Superior, as a heavy equipment operator.

Much of his retirement time was spent in his garage working on various woodworking projects. Another life-long interest of his was hunting.

Preceding him in death were his parents; children, Russell N. Erickson, Jeffery Erickson, and Jody Poverud; granddaughter, Jamie Gerding; brother, Harvey; and sisters, Marie, Ethel, Lois, Shirley and Linda.

Survivors include his wife of over 63 years, Phyllis; grandsons, Alex (Taylor) Erickson, Andy (Macie) Erickson, and Bradley Poverud; great-grandchildren, Matthew Powers, Samantha Strong, Carson Erickson, Easton Erickson, and Emma Grandlund; and special niece, Brenda Finn.

A celebration of Russell's life will be held next Spring, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
