Obituary

Ruth A. Hoyt, 67, of South Range, passed away Friday evening August 1, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. By her bedside was her beloved husband and soul mate of 50 years, Marvin.

Ruth was born on Dec. 27, 1946 the daughter of Emma and Lloyd Hepburn.

She had worked at Century Ceramic Dental Lab in Superior, D&G Trucking, Call of the Wild Art Gallery, Hallmark Cards and the Super 8 Motel.

Ruth, along with her husband, was an avid race fan. She also loved hunting, fishing, trapshooting, knitting, crocheting, reading, and painting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Emma; mother and father-in-law, Elmer and Edith Hoyt; brother in law, Leonard Hoyt; a grandson, Zachery Ford; and many aunts and uncles.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Marvin; children, Michelle (John) Manner of Florida, David (Zoe) Hoyt of Oregon and Scott (Kate) Hoyt of Superior; brothers, Lloyd Hepburn, Ronald (Kathy) Hepburn, and Dean Hepburn; sister, Jean (Harvey) Corbin; sisters -in-law, Stella (Rick) Adolphson and Lillie Olson; three grandchildren Brandon Ford, Anika Hoyt, and Zoe Hoyt; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wed., Aug.6th from 5-8pm and will continue on Thurs., Aug. 7th from Noon until the 1 pm funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Rev. Mark Holmes of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church will officiate.

If desired, memorials in Ruth's name may be made to the Salvation Army.
