January 3, 1937 – February 4, 2021
Ruth A. Johnson, 84, of Lake Nebagamon, died peacefully and went to be with her lord and savior on Thursday, February 4, 2021.
Ruth was born in Superior on Jan. 3, 1937 the daughter of Chester Hart and Lola (Love) Glass. She married the love of her life, Wayne Johnson and they celebrated 59 ½ years of marriage until his death in June 2020.
She was a longtime member of House of Hope Church in Lake Nebagamon, where she served as a Deaconess for many years. She was active member of the Garden Club with her very dear friend Carol Gehl, and TOPS. Ruth loved angels and enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, doing crossword puzzles and reading. She was an avid sports fan, including all Wisconsin Sports, and especially the Green Bay Packers. She also participated in Fantasy Football leagues.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; son, Dale Johnson; great grandson, Joshua Lawer; and siblings, Dorothy, Patsy, and Clyde.
Ruth is survived by her children, Warren (Tammy) Johnson of Madison, Ron Johnson of Lake Nebagamon, Lola Johnson of Connecticut, Dennis (Wendie) Johnson of Solon Springs, and Eric (Jill) Johnson of Adrian, MI; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Jaye) Hart of Pennsylvania and her dog Boss.
A memorial service for both Ruth and Wayne will be held on Monday February 8 th , 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at House of Hope Church, 7184 S Church Road, Lake Nebagamon, WI 54849. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, memorials in Ruth's name may be made to the House of Hope Church.
