Ruth Waldin Lintelmann, 96, of Poplar, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, August 13, 2018, at Villa Marina Health and Rehab.

Ruth was born in Kingsdale, MN, on July 7, 1922, the daughter of Andrew and Ragna (Staurseth) Waldin.

She had worked at the Poplar Post office for 33 years. She had served as the director of the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Douglas County for 34 years and taught the word of God to children for more than 60 years.  Ruth was also a member of the Gideons Women's Auxiliary.  Her passion for children's ministry will be remembered by many.

Ruth attended St. Paul Bible Institute and Taylor University where she earned her degree in music.  She was a member of Mission Covenant Church where she played the piano and organ for many years. Ruth enjoyed gardening and loved to be around children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; sister, Margaret; and cousins, Bob, Ruthie, Timmy and Gary Staurseth.

Ruth is survived by her cousins, Edward (Rhoda) Staurseth of Auburn, CA, Steve (Delores) Staurseth of Superior and Nancy Staurseth of Poplar, and many extended family here and in Norway.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Mission Covenant Church in Poplar. Rev Darrell Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Poplar Cemetery after lunch and a time of fellowship.

The family thanks all the staff at Villa Marina, Essentia Hospice, and faithful friends for their tender care of Ruth.
