Lurye, brothers and sister-in-law, Mason Ginsberg, Sherman and Selma Garnett, and best friend for 18 years, Sophie Kaner. Born on July 25, 1912, Byron was raised in Superior and remained here his whole life except for his highly anticipated winters in Palm Springs, CA. He graduated from Superior Central High School and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was the owner of Builder's Supply Co. in Superior, WI, for 47 years, and was a partner with his father and son at Edward's Realty for 84 years. Called up at age 32, Byron served briefly during WWII. He was a member of Northland Country Club and Canyon Country Club in Palm Spring. In addition, he was an avid golfer, bridge player, and crossword puzzle fan.

The family wishes to thank the owners and the staff of Home Instead who lovingly cared for Byron for three and one half years: Mary, Jerry, Brett, and especially Angel, Lana, and Alice who were with him for all of that time. Prior to that Byron received wonderful assistance at Lakeshore Luthern and Franciscan Health Center. Our heartfeld thanks go to Solvay Hospice House and its caring staff for making Byron's last two months comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Temple Israel in Duluth, 1602 East Second Street, Duluth, MN 55812 or Solvay Hospice House in care of Miller-Dwan Foundation, 502 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805, or to the donor's choice.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday at Noon at the Superior Hebrew Cemetery with Rabbi David Stienberg officiating.
