Sally L. Nelson, 77, of Superior, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at her residence with her husband by her side.

Sally was born in Sturgeon Bay, WI on Sept. 19, 1946, the daughter of Arnold and Mary Jane Suess. She married Ronald O. Nelson on June 24, 1989, and they celebrated 34 years of marriage.

Sally worked as a secretary for Benson Electric for many years.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading mystery magazines, and going to Pudge's to play the slot machines. Sally was an avid decorator and especially loved decorating her home for the holidays and enjoyed making artificial floral arrangements for her friends and family. She was an animal lover, having many pets over the years. She also enjoyed cooking, entertaining guests in her home, driving around town with Ron in their convertible, and spending time at their lake home on Island Lake near Solon Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Daun and Chuck Smith; and sister-in-law, Carolyn (Ken) Suess.

Sally is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Denise (Sean) O'Grady of Cedar Springs, MI; siblings, Diane (Eugene) Hartl of Sturgeon Bay, Sharon (partner John) Peterson of Sturgeon Bay; and Kenneth Suess of Brussels, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Sally's life will be held at a later date.
