Samuel E. Pomush, 78, a lifelong Superior resident, died on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Sam was the youngest of 5 children, to Israel & Bess (Kaner) Pomush in Superior.
Growing up he was always under the watchful eye of his loving sister, Darlene.
Sam was a Merchant Marine; Among the Various places he worked the last being a county board Supervisor for the Douglas County.
Sam was also a steward of the local Jewish community and guardian of the Hebrew Cemetery in Superior. He was passionate about history, genealogy, and was the resident family historian. Sam enjoyed reading and watching movies, especially Westerns in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; His siblings; Shirley "Joyce" (Harold) Haskovitz, Darlene (Nathan) Schwartz, Aryln (Marcia) Pomush, and Sheldon "Butch" Pomush.
Sam is survived by his sister in-law, Janet Pomush; and his many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Hebrew Cemetery in Superior, WI.
A special thanks to the Oncology ward at Essentia in Duluth, and all the many friends that were his family too.
