Sandra L. Gavin, 71, of Superior, died Sunday October 14, 2018 at her residence.

Sandra was born in Superior on March 30, 1947, the daughter of Harry 'Whistle' and Olga Westby. She married Charles Gavin on July 13, 1968 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

She had worked as a CNA for many years retiring from Bayshore Nursing Home in Duluth. Sandra was always helping others. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her pets dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Florence.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Charles; three sons, James Gavin of San Antonio, TX, Chris (Tiffany) Gavin of Mobile AL and Mike Gavin of Superior; grandchildren, Keithien, Isabella, Abagail and Leah; great-grandchildren, Lily Grace and Adalynn Faith; brother, LeRoy Gobin and sister, Joey (James) Shea; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be on Friday Oct. 19 ^th at 11:00 a.m.  at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street, with Fr. Lee Flaherty as officiant. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
