Sandra 'Sandy' Landeira, 63, of Superior, died Thursday, December 22, 2016, at her residence.

She was born in Superior on September 2, 1953, the daughter of Ernest and Alice (Swonger) Smetana.

Sandy enjoyed playing bingo and reading, especially books by her favorite author Nicholas Sparks.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Prior to her disability, Sandy was a loving caregiver at the former St. Francis Nursing Home and Fieldview Nursing Home, both in Superior.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Curtis Landeira.

Sandy is survived by her son, Shawn M. Landeira, Blaine, MN; daughter-in-law, Amanda Landeira, Blaine, MN; grandchildren, Landon Landeira, USMC-San Diego, CA, and Allyson Landeira, Blaine, MN; sisters, Nanci (Sid) Oswskey, Foxboro, and Tina (Rick) Nindorf, Foxboro; brothers, Skip (Cynde) Smetana, Ham Lake, MN, Paul (Jayne) Smetana, Foxboro, and Richard (Colleen) Smetana, Superior; father of her children and special friend, Jaime Landeira, Houston, TX; special friends, Jan, Tammi, Todd, Sandi, and Liam; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
