Scott D. Schachte, 60, of Superior, died Tuesday April 21, 2020 after a courageous battle with Corticobasal Degeneration at Twin Ports Health and Rehab Center.
Scott was born in Superior on Oct. 14, 1959 the son of Julia (Hanson) and Bernard Schachte. He married Michelle Holmvig on May 16, 1992 and they celebrated 28 years of marriage.
He had worked as a baker for many years before working at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in the sterile processing department. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Scott enjoyed fishing with his brother, Richard and listening to old time music with his brother, Bill. He also enjoyed exploring outdoors with his wife and dog, Zoey, especially at Pattison Park. He was an Avid Green Bay Packer Fan and Wisconsin Badger Fan. He liked to watch the birds at his feeders, especially Cardinals. Scott had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He also baked caramel rolls and bread for everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pat Schachte; brother-in-law, Bill Danielson; sisters-in-law, Marge Schachte and Debbie Schachte; and his father-in-law, Connie Holmvig.
Scott is survived by his wife, Michelle; siblings, Barb Danielson of Superior, Bill Schachte of Mexico, Richard (Jeanette) Schachte of Superior; sister-in-law, Eileen Schachte of Milwaukee; mother-in-law, Marilyn Holmvig of Crosby, MN; brothers-in-law, Brian (Jerra) Holmvig of Crosby and Bruce (Angie) Holmvig of Crosby; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion and angel dog, Zoey.
A private family service will be held on Sat. May 15, 2021 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and can be live streamed on Our Saviors' Facebook page or at www.superioroslc.com .
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Twin Ports Health for their excellent care of Scott during the last year of his life, and to the Doctors and Essentia Health.
