Sean Michael Smith, 33, of Eau Claire and formerly of Superior, WI, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, as the result of a swimming accident when he was 7 years old.

Sean was born in Superior on August 19, 1987, the son of Paulette Smith and Raleigh McFarland.

He enjoyed being outdoors all year round whether it was at the beach or in the snow. He had a unique habit of sucking on his pointer and middle finger together. Sean's siblings were his best friends and he just loved enjoying everything.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Sabrina Smith; paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather; and aunt, Dolly Bangs.

Sean is survived by his mother, Paulette Smith, Superior; father, Raleigh 'June Bug' McFarland; stepmother, Carmen Coates; siblings, Sara Smith, Seth Smith, Aaron McFarland, Sydney McFarland, Ryan McFarland, and Samantha McFarland; maternal grandmother, Iris Johnson, Superior; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.

A private family graveside will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. Where he will be laid to rest with his family, including twin sister, Sabrina.
