Sena E. Golat, 75, of Superior died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at her residence.

Sena was born in La Crosse, WI on Sept. 14, 1940 the daughter of Frank and Cornelia Riser.

She married the love of her life, James, in 1964 and they celebrated 36 wonderful years together filled with love and laughter.

She worked as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals, Frazer Shipyards and ME International Steel Foundry.
Sena enjoyed flower gardening, spending time at the cabin, and caring for anyone that needed help. She was a devout catholic and a member of St. Patrick's and Cathedral parishes. Most important to her was spending time with her family and friends. Sena will be best remembered for her integrity, courage and unconditional love of all people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, James; brother-in-law Rick Omberg; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Christianson.

Sena is survived by her children Maureen (Kevin) Golat-Huguet of New Franken, WI, Michael (Jennifer) Golat of Altoona, WI, Bridget (Jeff Van Meter) Golat of Superior and Patrick (Chenoa) Golat of Superior; grandchildren, Caleb, Keelan, Aiden, Adelin, Jacob, and Katherine; two sisters, Virginia Riser of St. Cloud and Florence (Edward) Bias of Marian, IA; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Omberg of Villages Florida; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Alice) Golat of Sleepy Hollow, IL and Thomas (Kay) Golat of Superior.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral mass on Tuesday Jan. 19 at Cathedral of Christ the King Church. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sena's name to Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank St. Luke's Cancer Center and Hospice for their professional and compassionate care of Sena.
