Obituary

Sharon Sivertsen-Modrijan, 75, formerly of Superior, Chippewa Falls, and Weyerhaeuser, WI, died on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at M Fairview Ridges Hospital in Eagan, MN.

Sharon was born in Superior on May 15, 1948, the daughter of Edwin and Arlene 'Pat' (Kirkpatrick) Johnson.

She earned her RN degree and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UW Eau Claire and went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She worked for many years in Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic of Eau Claire.

She was most proud of being the longest running health professional at YMCA Camp Widjiwagan. For over 30 years it was the highlight of every summer.

Sharon was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for decades and was also a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and quilting. She loved to travel all over the country, including Ohio, Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach, Gulf Shores, Ely MN, Upper Michigan, and of course, Lake Superior.

Sharon loved hosting large family gatherings for any reason. Her greatest joy was her grandkids and took every opportunity to attend as many activities and events in their lives she could, whether flying to Montana to hand make Halloween costumes and gingerbread houses from scratch or flying to New York for concerts, swim meets, and dance recitals. She would travel to the upper Midwest for ski races almost every weekend and brought them on vacations to Disney World. Most of all she loved to spoil them with gifts and shopping sprees at every opportunity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat & Edwin; first husband, William A. Sivertsen; son, William O. Sivertsen; In-laws, Margaret and Odin Sivertsen and Stella Modrijan; and sister-in-law, Sondra.

Sharon is survived by her husband, John Modrijan; children, Karrie (Dave) Mueller, Michelle (Matt) Boehmer, and Ben (Shannon) Sivertsen; stepchildren, Wendy, Michelle (Tom), and Stephanie (Bryan); grandchildren, Odin, Oliver, Violet, Emma, Ethan, William, Alexander, Kate, Stella, Josh, and Emily; and siblings, Karin Dahlberg, Roxie (Ken) Ryberg, Laurie Huffner, and Edwin Johnson; brother-in-law, Archie Wilson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, dogs and granddogs.
