Shirley A. Sickler, age 90, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Twin Ports Health Services in Superior, WI.
Shirley was born January 1, 1936, to Viola (LeRoux) and Matthew McKay in Thief River Falls, MN.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Twin Ports Grocery/Gateway Foods, Indianhead Credit Union, and Holy Assumption Catholic Church. Shirley was a longtime member of Holy Assumption. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, crocheting/knitting, and taking bus trips to see new places. Above all, Shirley’s greatest joy was her children. They were her whole world. She was very proud of all their accomplishments and had no problem sharing those with anyone who would listen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Meghan Sickler.
Shirley is survived by her children, Lynette Sickler (Bid Heidorf), Steven (Kathleen) Sickler, and Robert Sickler, (Tawny Leste), grandchildren, Lauren (Kyle) Dalpiaz and Tyler (Becky) Jones; great-grandchild on the way, Aspen Jo Dalpiaz; and very special cousins, Al Olson (Ardis Thompson) and Darlene Olson. In addition, other cousins, nieces and nephews.
To list all the special people Shirley called friends would take forever. She was blessed with so much love, friendship, and support from many very special people throughout her life.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 5601 Tower Ave., Superior, WI, with Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Twin Ports Health Services for the care, love, and support they showed Shirley. She truly loved living there during the past 2½ years.
