Shirley J. Wellcome, 76, died Monday, January 2, 2017, at Essentia Health- St. Mary's in Duluth.

She was born on March 24, 1940, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Becker.

Shirley worked as a cook at East End Café in Superior for 36 years; she loved cooking both at home and at the café.  She was an avid Vikings fan and enjoyed socializing with friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 granddaughters; brother, Steve Becker; sisters, Donna Bauleke, Barb Harrington, and Harriet Johnson.

Shirley is survived by her children, Darrell (Terri) Green, St. Peter, MN, Walter Green, International Falls, Jody Lehman, Chaska, MN, Dorothy (James) Peterson, Superior, Wanda Wellcome, Superior, Rosemary (Troy) Sogn, Sheldon, IA, and Wesley 'Butch' Wellcome, McGregor; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Kramer, Aitkin, MN; and her dear friend, Carol.

A visitation will be held at Downs Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2017, from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service.
