Stanley James Coleman, 69, of Superior passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his residence
Stanley was born in Raymond, Minn. on March 29, 1942 the son of Blanche (Rutherford) and James Coleman.
He was retired from the Boilermaker's Union Local #107.
Stanley enjoyed restoring, driving and racing old cars, especially Mopars. He also enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Coleman.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol; son, Shawn (Melanie) Coleman of Foxboro; daughter, Sheila Love of Superior; grandchildren, Garrett and Adam Coleman, Samantha and Christopher Strodtman and a great-grandchild on the way; brother, Wayne (Carol) Coleman; sister, Mary (Marty) Soleim; sister-in-law, Sandra Coleman; and his dog and loyal companion, Squirty.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 7, from 5-7 p.m. and his funeral service will be held on Mon., Aug 8, at 11:00 a.m. in the Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Rev. Gary Garnatz, pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Gordon Cemetery.
