Stanley J. "Joe" Brown III, 63, of Superior, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at his residence.

Joe was born in Superior on Sept. 2, 1954 the son of Stanley and Marjorie Brown, Jr.

He was a member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and served his country enlisting in the Army.

Joe had worked at various places in the area, including Black Bear Casino and most recently Wal-Mart.

He was an avid Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Brewer and NASCAR Fan. He enjoyed going golfing and especially loved to hunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kelly J. Brown.

Joe is survived by his sister, Diane Corbin of Wascott; nieces, Tara Corbin of Minneapolis, and Kristin (Kyle) Gunderson of Texas; nephew, Jimmy Brown of Poplar; great niece and nephew, Anna Fischer and Owen Gunderson; brother-in-law, Tom (Bonnie) Brown of Superior; special aunt, Beverly (Jim) of Danbury; aunt and uncle, Bessie and LeRoy Johnson of Gordon; aunt, Barbara Brown of Superior and uncle Paul (Dianne Nelson) Garrity of Superior; special friends, Jim & Kathy and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 9, from 11:00 a.m. until the Noon funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street. Rev. H. Duane Aslyn will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.

Burial will be at a later date in Gordon Memorial Cemetery.
