Stephen "Steve" Wayne Schirmer, 47, of South Range, died Friday, December 16, 2016, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born November 12, 1969, in Shell Lake, WI, son of Wayne Conrad and Mary Tess (Meinhardt) Schirmer.
Steve's work history included real estate sales, boat sales, and automobile sales, with Kia of Duluth being his most recent employer.
He loved the outdoors and spending time hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing being just some of his many interests. He enjoyed cheering for the Packers, Badgers and Twins. Steve loved people and spending time with family and friends was always a high priority of his.
Preceding him in death were his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Angela; son, Jordan Aaron Michael (Katy Rudolph) Schirmer, Baldwin, WI; daughters, Leah (Mike Waggoner) Gucinski and Holly Gucinski, both of Superior; grandson, Kalem Wayne Schirmer, Baldwin, WI; parents, Wayne and Mary Schirmer, Minong, WI; brothers, Michael Conrad (Carrie) Schirmer, Burlington, VT, and Timothy Carl (Paula) Schirmer, Minong, WI; sister, Gaylene Joy (Dan) Sears, Machesney Park, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and special friends; and his canine friend, Shadow.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, and will resume at noon until the 1 p.m. service, Tuesday, at The River Church, Minong. Reverend Ben Kidder will officiate.
Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall of the church.
Beginning at 5 p.m., a time of fellowship will continue at the Log Cabin, 2821 S. County Road E, South Range.
