Steven C. McCauley, 77, of South Range, WI, died August 9, 2026, under hospice care at Dove Nursing Home in Superior. Steve lived his life surrounded by family and enjoyed golf, woodworking, and watching the Green Bay Packers.

He was born in Superior on March 11, 1949, to Ariel and Josette (Durfee) McCauley. He graduated from Superior Senior High School with the class of 1967 and attended Superior Vocational School. He was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

Steve married Rita Javner after graduation and had four children. They later divorced and he married Jeanette Smith in 1990, and they shared 36 years together. He worked at Superior Fiber (Georgia Pacific) for 33 years. After retiring he and his wife, Jean, purchased Trails End Bar in Patsau, WI and ran that for 3 ½ years before retiring again and eventually living adjacent to his daughter and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul McCauley; sisters, Diane Hietala and Judy Erickson; and his brother, Bob McCauley.

Steve is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Vicky (Todd) Blatt, Chad (Hollie) McCauley, and Shannon (Steve) Tuura; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; stepsons, Rob (Sue) Isackson, Jeff (Julie) Isackson, Matt Glibota, and Joe (Melissa) Glibota, and four more grandchildren; brother, David (Sharon) McCauley; sisters, Josette Dietmeirer and Sara (Jerry) O’Neil; sister-in-law, Ruth McCauley; brother-in-law, Chuck (Karen) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 17th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., Superior.
