Steven C. Rydberg, 62, of Brule, died Thursday, September 7, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
He was born in Rice Lake, WI, on December 9, 1954, the son of Charles (Neal) and Maxine Rydberg.
Steven served with the United States Army. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Midwest Energy for 10 years. Then he worked in real estate in Arizona for 11 years.
He was a founding member of the local Gitchee Gummee Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, being outdoors, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles (Neal) Rydberg and sister-in-law, Peggy Rydberg.
Steven is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marion; sons, Jeremy (Carrie) Rydberg of Brule and Christopher (Sara) Rydberg of Lake Nebagamon; grandchildren, Shawn and Lilly; mother, Maxine Rydberg of Oro Valley, AZ; and brothers, Mike Rydberg of Amnicon, Kevin Rydberg of Catalina, AZ, and Bryan Rydberg of Shell Lake, WI.
His visitation will be on Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 10:30 until the 11:30 a.m. memorial service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th Street. Pastor Ron Becklund officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
