Susan R. Hudacek, 76 of Superior passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Sunday, January 21, 2024.

Susan was born December 30, 1947, in Superior to Hazel (Earhart) and Theodore During.

Susan married the love of her life, Joseph Hudacek July 15, 1967, in Superior, WI.

She had her master's degree in reading and was employed as an elementary teacher working at various schools in the Superior area throughout her 32-year career. Mrs. Hudacek was a favorite teacher to many of her students.

Susan was a devout Christian and a long-time member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church.

She was passionate about spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her cheerful personality, infectious smile, love of dogs and famous carrot cake and apple squares.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joseph; her daughters, Lisa (Donald) Doolittle, and Dawn (Dennis) Tolan; her grandchildren, Shaye Doolittle, Danyelle Tolan and Darren Tolan; her great grandson, Maverick Murrell; her siblings, Sandra Nelson, Randy (Judy) During, Terry During and Rosalie (Chuck) Duede.

The family of Susan would like to extend their sincere gratitude to JoAnn Hudacek and Kathy Opoien for the outstanding care they gave Susan over the past few years as she battled dementia. They would also like to thank Essentia Hospice and the care team at New Perspective for the recent care and support they provided Susan and the family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 5601 Tower Ave., Superior. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.  Fr. Anthoni Yannam will officiate.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery following the mass.
