Susan Joan Adams Strand, 66, of Superior, Wis. died peacefully in her residence of natural causes on Thurs., July 30, 2014.

She was born May 3, 1948 in Duluth, Minn. to Rose (Volk) and Joseph Adams.

For several years she had been employed as a hostess/bartender for local restaurants, having most recently been at the Keyport Lounge.

Susan was a loving mother and sister, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her three sons, Gerald W. (Laurie) Strand of Superior, Geoff (Peggy) Strand of Superior, and Greg W. (Melissa) Strand of Wyoming, Minn.; five grandchildren, Sara, Nick, Blake, Gabe, and Reide; two sisters, Carol Miller of Fla. and Lucille (Rick) Gardner of Duluth; a brother, Alan W. Adams of Superior; a sister-in-law, Lori Adams; a special friend, Bill Murray of Superior; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her former husband, Clifford W. Strand of Superior.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gary Adams, and a nephew, Scott J. Fredrickson.

Susan's memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tues., Aug 5th in Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Sarah Kerkes of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Committal prayers will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, 2516 Woodland Ave., Duluth.
