Susan L. Szewcik, 55, of South Range, Wis. died Mon., Feb. 28, 2011 in peace with her family present at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, Minn.
Sue was born Nov. 6, 1954 in Rockford Ill., the daughter of Leo and Joyce (Thompson) Schier.
She graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1973 and married David Szewcik on July 20, 1984.
She was a "Jacki" of all trades: waitress, bartender, janitor, maid, desk clerk, cab driver, cashier, aide, dispatcher, insurance claims processor, truck driver and courier. Sue loved to drive!
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, seek-a-word and Sudoku.
Survivors include her husband, David Sr.; sons, Allen (Tiffany) Thompson of South Range, David Jr., Larry and Billy Szewcik; grandsons, Chi Rho Thompson, David Szewcik III; granddaughters, Gena Szewcik and Keilah Nelsen; her parents, Joyce and Leo; sisters, Terry (David) Lambert of Superior and Michelle (Tom) Kahler of Cherry Valley, Ill.; and brothers, Leroy Schier of South Range and Lyle (Debbie) Schier of Eugene, Ore.
Sue was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Andrew and Larry Dale.
Her memorial service will be in Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
