Tanner Harvey Becken died tragically September 6th, 2024. He leaves behind a heartbroken family.

He was born April 1, 1984, to Rebecca and Harvey Becken. He was welcomed by his older brother, Trevor Lundgren, adoring grandparents, and extended family. He grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin and Hastings, Minnesota on the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers, busy on and in the water with his parents, brother, and friends.

He met and married his best friend, Stephanie (Davidson) in 2003 and spent the next 21 years loving her and their three amazing children, Grace (19), Joy (16), and Tanner (13). They built a laughter-filled life together in Lake City, Minnesota, Hastings, Minnesota, and finally Superior, Wisconsin, where Tanner lived out his dream of building his own home, living in the woods, and being on the water. Tanner was a jack-of-all-trades, mastering everything from small engine repair to carpentry and carving—just about anything he thought to try.

Extended complications from chronic pain and bipolar disorder led to him shortening a meaningful and imperfect life where he was loved by his family, friends, and animals.

He is survived by his wife, three children, mother, stepfather Dale McNamara (Tami), and brother. In Heaven he joins his dad, Harvey, who he missed, maternal and paternal grandparents and many friends. Tanner was a blessed and loved child of God every day of his life and there is no doubt he is now in his heavenly Father's tender care.

His suicide shatters and infuriates everyone who loved him, because there were so many good days behind us and so many good days ahead.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13th 5-7pm and resume on Saturday Sept. 14th from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service at Zion Lutheran Church, 2022 E 2nd St., Superior, with Pastor Sarah Gunderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made toward Tanner's children's education.
