Terry L.
Noyes
February 18, 1950 – January 7, 2023
Terry Lee Noyes, 72, of Superior, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, after a short courageous battle with cancer. Terry was born in Superior on February 18, 1950, the son of Alanson Noyes and Hellen (Noyes) Kervina.
Terry is survived by his caring, loving wife of 51 years Mary (Wiskerchen) Noyes; oldest daughter, Anita (Tim) Hudacek of Red Wing, MN, along with their children Nate, Christopher, Sarah, Jameson & Samuel; and youngest daughter Karen (Michael) Nevin of Poplar, WI, along with their children Cody & Cassandra. He was also blessed with three great grandchildren Aiden, Miah & Svetlana, and bonus grandchildren, Masha, Mackenzie, Garret and Paul.
He is also survived by his sister Rayola LaBarge (Hibbing, MN), Dale Noyes (Salem, WI), Roland Noyes (Superior, WI) and many special nephews and nieces.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers Loren (Butch), Darwin (Pudge), Russell Noyes, and his father and mother-in-law, Peter and Shirley Wiskerchen, along with his special 4-legged friend, his dog Hunter.
As Terry would say he was a "Jack of All Trades - Master of None." In his lifetime he was a welder, construction worker, pipe liner, mason, groundskeeper, maintenance man, railroad worker, machine operator, and expert car mechanic to his children's and grandchildren's vehicles. Terry had a knack for anything with a motor and loved tinkering in his garage after his retirement.
Terry had a love for the outdoors which included hunting, fishing, camping, ATV riding, and his all-time favorite activity—stock car racing, which began when he was just a young boy following his brothers. Terry raced at the Hibbing, MN Speedway, where he raced a '57 Chevy with the number 102. He was a regular patron at the Superior Speedway and all other local area dirt tracks. Terry shared his passion for the outdoors and his love of racing with his entire family.
You knew you held a special place in Terry's heart if he blessed you with a nickname. It started with his daughters Barney & Jed (married to the Polack & Tonto), then onto the grandchildren Dusty, Skidder, Smiley, Clara Bell, Swamp Witch, Jamie & Sammy. Then came along his great grandchildren, AJ, Punkie and Brandi. His bonus grandchildren also received special nicknames too—Moss, Mickey, Carrot, and Steve.
Terry was a jokester and had the gift of gab, no matter if you were a new friend or old, he always had a story to share. Apart from spending time with his wife and children, he especially enjoyed shooting the bull with his life-long best friend Joe Johnson, while drinking gallons of coffee and smoking hundreds of cigarettes. He always made everyone who came to the house feel welcome.
When leaving Terry's house, you always received the midwestern goodbye with a walk to the car, another 30 minutes of BS, and his famous last words Toot-Aloo!
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when we can all enjoy the outdoors like Terry would have wanted us to.
