Theresa 'Tuna Fish' Smith, 63, of Superior, began her journey into the spirit world with her sisters by her side, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

She was born to Bernard and Margaret Smith on August 27, 1954, in Washburn, WI.

When she was 3 years old, they moved from the Town of Russell to Superior where Tuna was a lifelong resident.

Tuna graduated from the Superior Senior High and continued her education at WITC where she received a degree in drafting.  She worked at Leef Laundry until her health put her into retirement.

She enjoyed life and all it offered.  Tuna enjoyed many years of playing softball, horseshoes, and pool.  She enjoyed camping at Raspberry and cherished time with family and friends.  Tuna will always be remembered for her "hard, tough shell, but her soft warm inside."  She always put others before herself.

Tuna was guided into the spirit world by her mother and father; other dad, Ronald Brokaw; brother, Jim Daley; sister, Rose McIvor and Bushel Smith; niece, Tammy Lynn Flonnes; nephews, Jesse Kasper and Benny Smith; and lifelong partner of 30 years, Sandy.

She is survived by her sisters, Barbara 'Poppy' Anderson, Tina Dembroski, and Liz Flonnes; brother, Oscar (Jackie) Smith; brother-in-law, John Dembroski; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews.  And her cat, Sassy; her littlest best friend, Azalea 'Bean' Tainter.  Bean filled an empty void in Tuna's life in a special way.

Per Tuna's request, there will be no service.  However, there will be a celebration of life at the Eagles Club in Superior on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank Twin Ports Health Services and Essentia Health for 6 months of excellent care and support.  Thank you will never be enough.
