Thomas M. Shannon, 58, of Superior, WI died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his home.

He was born February 7, 1961 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Fred and Marilyn (McLaughlin) Shannon.   He attended school in Grand Rapids and graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1979.  After high school he attended Itasca Community College and then studied at University of Minnesota Duluth.   Tom moved to Superior, Wisconsin, and most recently worked at Amsoil Inc. for the last 7 years.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman.   He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at his cabins.

He treasured the simple pleasures in life:  a cold drink, a good steak, and laughs around a crackling fire.

He also enjoyed 4-wheeling on the back roads, a Vikings football game, fireworks on the 4 ^th of July, a good game of horseshoes, and the Blues.

Tom had a quick wit, seeing the funny side of life.   If you ever needed a helping hand – he was there.   He had a quiet, gentle, caring side to him.  Everyone that knew Tom – liked him.  He was a genuinely nice person and a great friend.

Tom will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his sister Kelly (Brian) Brunetta of Bemidji, Minnesota and brother Patrick (Annie) Shannon of Duluth, Minnesota and very special friends Bob (Donette) Donahue.

At Tom's request, private services for immediate family have been arranged.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
