Thomas Joseph Sheahan, 74, of Superior, WI, passed away at home on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
He was born in Superior on July 5, 1952, to James and Elizabeth (Booth) Sheahan. He graduated from Superior Senior High School before serving in the U.S Navy on the USS Turner Joy DD951 in Vietnam. After returning from the Navy, Tom chose to further his education in something he was passionate about. He took classes in baking at Duluth Vocational Technical Culinary Arts School, and classes in restaurant management and facility maintenance at WITC. He continued his education as an art student at UWS.
Tom worked several jobs in Duluth and Superior as a chef and baker and was the owner of the Belknap Bakery in Superior.
In his early years Tom loved home remodeling, watching football, and expressing his artistic ability with countless paintings over the years. If you’ve ever entered his home, you would think you’re in a museum with his countless possessions covering the walls and ceiling, making his home his happy place. He always found a place for everything he received or collected. In his later years, Tom loved to watch TV and wait for his daily visits from his brother Jim (Vicki) and would never stop talking from the moment you entered the door until it was time to leave. He was a loving and caring person who was always willing to give a helping hand and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, James Sheahan and Elizabeth Husby; sister, Mary Ward; and brother, Daniel Sheahan.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Nina (Ron) Millheiser of Missouri; brother, James (Vicki) Sheahan; sisters, Kathy (Mark Brzinski) Sheahan, Jeanne (Paul Patterson) Sheahan-Patterson, and Sandy (Don Silletti) Sheahan; grandchildren Lexi, Tate, Olivia; and one great-grandchild Samuel, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. in Superior, with Gary Banker as celebrant. Following the service, there will be Military Honors, and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
Tom expressed that instead of flowers, please donate to the local animal humane society.
