Obituary

Thomas "Harvey" Stein, 87, a lifelong resident of Superior, Wis. died Wed., Dec. 4th, 2013 in his residence, with his family at his side.

He was born Jan. 29th, 1926 to Ida (LePage) and Thomas F. Stein.

He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII.

Harvey was a life member of the V. F. W. and enjoyed golf, softball, bowling and curling.

He was firefighter for the City of Superior Fire Department for 30 years and retired at the rank of Captain on May 30, 1985.

He is survived by his wife, the former Irene Beckman; four children, Marsha (Leroy Thompson) Sutton of Minneapolis, Minn., Michael (Lindy) Stein of Solon Springs, Wis., Marilyn (Jim) Marshall of East Moline, Ill., and Michelle (Brian) Keup of Superior; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Pashibin of Minneapolis; and a brother, Ed Stein of Superior.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Melanie Boedigheimer.

The memorial service for Harvey will be in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., on Sat., Dec. 7th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci, Rector of Cathedral Of Christ The King officiating. A time of visitation will be from noon until 1:00 p.m. The Superior Fire Dept. Honor Guard will be present throughout the visitation and funeral. Inurnment will be in the Veteran's Memorial Park at Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be his ten grandsons, Sean Sutton, Mick, Scott and Tim Stein, James Marshall, Nick and Lance Boedigheimer and Shane, Travis and Kasey Keup.
